Let's start with the positives:
It was a great weekend for the Premiership, the Chelsea/Everton game was superb and it took one of those goals that can win league titles to win the game for Chelsea, no matter how much he is hated and I hate him, Drogba's winner was simply incredible. The implications that goal had ahead of Man Utd's game to West Ham was massive. Man Utd were simply poor in their defeat to a hard-working but, lets face it, totally average West Ham team. Pardew must be tearing his hair out after watching the same team that didn't bother under him work their utter socks off for the new manager. As much as I dislike Pardew and believe that it was right to sack him, the players have ultimately lost him his job. Still at least the title race is going to go until the last kick of the season.
Spurs finally got their 1st away win, but blimey we do it the hard way. After dominating for 50 mins and scoring only 2 out of a good 8 or 9 excellent chances, we sat back and nearly threw it away. Yes they were defensive and scared to draw, let alone lose, the manner we gave Man City the initiative was disappointing after dominating so much. Still, we won, and that's always good.
The negatives:
I've said a lot about England regarding the Ashes and they got exactly what they deserved in the 3rd test. They could of drawn the game but 2 things went against them:
1. Cook got out at the end of day 4 to a ball he had little chance with. However to use a nightwatchman in that situation was yet ANOTHER terrible mistake from Flintoff and Fletcher after millions of mistakes made previous. Hoggard had no chance and to go in Day 5, 5 down instead of 4, gave the iniative back to the Aussies there and then.
2. Flintoff getting out just before lunch was suicidal. If we hadn't lost a wicket by lunch then who knows what would of happened? It was good he hit himself into some form, but he missed a Warne full toss and safety first instructions with only 5 overs till lunch should of been operated. He showed a lack of responsibility. The less said about Geraint Jones the better. He simply should never play again for England.
The PDC Darts world title starts today and it's obvious who will win. Still, it's always good to watch and if Colin Lloyd, John Part or Wayne Mardle hit top form, who knows - an upset might be on the cards.

Who's the next big British sporting hopeful then? Anyone in particular/any sport or team you guys can pin your hopes on for a bit of glory?

Hard to gauge to be honest as 2006 was such a bad year for British sport in general.
